The fitness market is rife with models telling us if we only tried harder, we could look just like them. And if we were willing to take on more pain, we could have the body of our dreams.
Call us crazy, but we’re not motivated by pain or unattainable standards of beauty.
The idea that the most effective exercise is physically and emotionally painful is not only demotivating, but it’s fundamentally untrue. Our bodies are designed to move, and when we do so properly, it inspires strength and empowerment, not hopelessness and defeat.
We think the “no pain, no gain” mantra of the fitness industry has injured enough people, and we’re here to offer an alternate approach:
More movement and more confidence. Plain and simple.
We believe that fitness—or better yet, movement—is, and should be, accessible to people of all ages, all body types, all abilities, and all goals. It needn’t be intimidating, shameful, or painful.
In fact, when done properly, movement doesn’t bring pain at all; it alleviates it.
Our aim is to cut through the typical fitness fluff and break it down to the basics because mastering those basics is what cultivates the confidence you need to make the impossible possible. And with those good feelings, come more good feelings - and that’s where true motivation lies.
The best, and most sustainable, motivation stems from a place of self-acceptance, compassion, and gratitude. It comes from the freedom of spirit that arises when we overcome our perceived mental and physical limitations and itch to take on more.
And that’s what we want more than anything: to see your spirit soar.
Our aim is to empower bodies to move freely, and to inspire confidence where there was once defeat and discouragement. We want people to learn how to make fitness an enjoyable part of their lives rather than something that brings about feelings of shame and failure.
And we don’t just want to see you move freely now; we want to see you move well into your future.
We want you to know what truly sustainable strength feels like; to be able to pick up your children with ease and enjoy walks with your spouse into old age.
We’re here to create confidence, inspire strength, and to build a community around the one thing we all have in common: movement.
