When we launched our Knee Pain Relief Program, we asked our Primal 7 community if anyone had any questions about their knees. Below you’ll find the questions we received along with video responses from our resident physical therapist, Jenna Ellis:
Question:
“I have degenerative tears in both knees. I can’t squat. How can I use Primal 7 to make my knees stronger?”
Response:
Question:
“My knees do much better when I activate my glutes before working out. What are your favorite warm-up exercises that help activate the glutes?”
Response:
Question:
“Feels like my knees are weak. Stairs feel like a struggle and I experience a horrible uncomfortable feeling when I kneel. Not a sharp pain, just major discomfort... Is this inflammation? Any tips?”
Response:
Question:
“I’m finding the Knee Pain Relief videos helpful but I’m wondering what I can/should do to help my knees when I’m not exercising. Does it make a difference if I cross my legs when I sit, for example? Does it matter if my feet are under my knees, under my chair or out in front of my knees when I’m working at my desk?”
Response:
Question*:
“I shattered my patella 3.5 years ago and refractured it 2 years ago. My patella has 3 screws in it now. I have a reduced range of motion, about 85 degrees, and weakness. I’m able to walk without a cane. My gait is somewhat affected, more so when carrying items or when my back hurts. The affected leg is not strong at all in flexed position. I am also about 50+ lbs overweight and post-menopause.”
*Alright, that wasn’t a question per se. But we assume the question was: given all of those factors, what can they do to relieve pain and improve their range of motion?
Response:
Question:
“I have knee weakness. Once bent, I have to hold on to something to get back up. X-rays came back fine. Muscular? Tendon/ligament? Thank you!”
Response:
We hope Jenna’s video responses will help not only the people who wrote in with questions but also others who are out there dealing with similar circumstances. If you have a question that wasn’t covered in the videos above or in our knee blog post, feel free to ask us in the comment section below.
